Physical and mental\nwellness go hand in hand, so it is natural to feel a certain discomfort in the\nabsence of a connection with your deepest emotions. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-image\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/monastere.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/old\/2019\/08\/alone-beautiful-woman-brunette-2442149-1024x666.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4787\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Your personal emotional adventure starts with\nidentifying, and then accepting your emotions. It\u2019s essential not to fight them,\nas they are intrinsic to the human experience and part of life\u2019s many flavours.\nIn fact, fighting these emotions generally only leads to exacerbating them. On\nthe contrary, it\u2019s important to own your emotions and cherish them, as they are\nprecious\u2014and what make us complex beings who are fundamentally sensitive. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>It\u2019s also important to know that society has a tendency\nto label certain emotions as \u201cnegative\u201d (such as anger, or sadness, for\nexample), despite them being completely normal, valid, and even useful to our\npersonal evolution. It is therefore crucial to change your view of these\nso-called \u201cnegative\u201d emotions, to accept them, stop judging them, and ensure to\nfollow them up with constructive actions. In fact, the emotions only become\nnegative if the actions that come from them are destructive, as opposed to\nconstructive. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-image\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/monastere.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/old\/2019\/08\/adult-art-attractive-986740-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4789\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A few\ntechniques<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Identifying your emotions often starts with an inner\nscan (also called body scan or emotional scan). Try it by taking the time to stop\nand reconnect with your body. You can do it at any time of the day; what\u2019s\nimportant is that your choice of location promotes calm and full consciousness.\nBreathing exercises can also help calm your spirit and enable you to reconnect\nwith what is essential. Start your scan by taking at least five deep breaths.\nInhale for five seconds, and then exhale for another five seconds. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Then, try to name your emotions. The following\nquestions can help you sort through your feelings:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is my inner weather? Is it sunny? Raining? Windy?<br>Is there thunder?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Am I tense? On edge?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Am I tired? Or feeling passive?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Am I impatient?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do I feel like crying? Would crying make me feel<br>better?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>To understand the fundamental emotion behind your feelings, have a look at the chart below. You must then try to welcome them without judgment, and experience\nthem in full consciousness. Identifying your emotions often encourages you to\nthink about the reason you are feeling them. Once you\u2019ve found the reason\nbehind them, what\u2019s important is to move toward positive actions. The emotions\nwill therefore no longer be perceived as negative, but rather as a way of\nimproving your wellness and evolving as a person. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Emotions that aren\u2019t identified and accepted don\u2019t magically disappear. On the contrary, they accumulate in your head and body, and end up manifesting in different ways. Firstly, denying your emotions can lead to physical problems such as heartburn, insomnia, eczema, etc. It is also possible that because these emotions must be let out eventually one way or another, they can lead to chronic anxiety, new phobias, and even bouts of depression.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Therefore, the better your mental health, the healthier you tend to be physically, and vice versa.
